RadioWorks fine-tuning

The RadioWorks office in Alexandra is merging with its Queenstown counterpart in a move the company says will benefit listeners in both areas.

RadioWorks Queenstown general manager Frederick Thaisen said he would manage both offices from Monday.

Mr Thaisen will travel between the two offices.

He said the radio content of both More FM stations would not change, and staff numbers in both offices would be retained.

"We are actually expanding our Cromwell office at the same time. No-one's losing jobs or anything like that.

"It is to offer a better service to both areas with more hands on deck," he said.

RadioWorks Alexandra general manager Sonia Leathart will move to Wellington for another job with the company.

Mr Thaisen said the nation-wide company, which has ties to TV3, was not in the process of further consolidations.

"It's just for our situation down here. We are better off as a united front," he said.
