Daniel Stackhouse, the leading South Island apprentice, has commitments at Paeroa on Wednesday, ruling out riding at the rescheduled Oamaru meeting the same day.
Stackhouse has been engaged for Myths and Legends in the Inter-Island Steeplechase at Paeroa.
Myths and Legends won an open steeplechase at Te Aroha on June 25 with Richard Eynon the rider.
Eynon has the mount on Volkswagin in the Inter-Island.
The John Wheeler-trained Volkswagin has been campaigning in Australia.
Volkswagin finished third to Al Garhood and Mali Juraj in the Grand Annual Steeplechase at Warrnambool on May 6.
Stackhouse, who has ridden 34 winners this season, has mounts at Wanganui on Thursday.
His absence from Oamaru has led to a new rider for Eel Win, who is resuming in the open 1200m.
Robert Hannam has been engaged for the topweight.
