Arrest made after window attack

A 34-year-old man was  arrested following an assault in which a man was thrown through the window of a Corstorphine house last month.

Police yesterday confirmed the Dunedin man was arrested on the day of the incident.

On November 19, a man was thrown through the window of a house in Clermiston Ave.

The victim, bloodied and drifting in and out of consciousness, was driven to hospital by a friend, while the assailant fled before police arrived.

Residents of the street said  methamphetamine might have been the cause of the dispute.

The  34-year-old was arrested and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, police said. They would not comment further as the matter was before the court.

The Otago Daily Times understands there were gang links in the incident, but police would not comment on that. The 34-year-old would next appear in court on December 20, police said.

"Police are still seeking a second man believed to be involved in the incident."

Police would not release any further details of the second man.

The victim had posted on social media in the days following the attack saying he was "very lucky" to  be alive.

Police said the victim received treatment at Dunedin Hospital for moderate injuries.
