Kiri is on target to win the Kiwifruit Cup for the second time at Tauranga tomorrow.
The 7yr-old mare, trained at Te Aroha by owner Ernie Griffiths, won the Cornwall Handicap (2200m) at Ellerslie at her last start on June 5.
Sam Spratt has retained the ride.
Kiri won the 2007 Kiwifruit Cup with 52.5kg when ridden by Mark Sweeney. She ran fourth to Indikator, Our Star Pupil and Strapped For Cash in the race last year.
She has 56.5kg, 4kg more than she carried in 2007.
Strapped For Cash is topweight with 58kg. He ran fifth behind Kiri at Ellerslie in his second start back from a spell.
Our Star Pupil was a winner two starts back at Tauranga over the Cup distance of 2100m.
Platinum Zana will attempt to repeat her win of last year in the Tauranga Classic, the listed weight-for-age 1400m race for fillies and mares.
Jonathon Riddell has the mount on Platinum Zana, who ran sixth at Ellerslie at her last start on June 5.
The Lisa Latta-trained Platinum Zana has been off the winning list since she won the race last year with Darryl Bradley the rider.
Ististar won the Tauranga Classic in 2007-08.
Dasoudi could prove a force to be reckoned with. She was an impressive last-start winner over 1200m at Tauranga on May 15.
Miss Colleen, who has won her last two starts, ran seventh in the Tauranga Classic last year.
