More than $15,000 was raised for breast and prostate cancer research in a cycle event held in conjunction with the birthday celebrations.
Recreation centre manager Penny Batchelor said more than $2000 was still expected to come in from the charity event ''Pedal For Hope'' on top of the $15,284 already counted.
About 219 people took part in the event, in which participants cycled for 12 hours in an indoor spin bike.
More than 500 people attended the celebrations, which included sports displays and games such as tug-of-war, Zorb soccer, horizontal bungee and gymnastics.
Mrs Batchelor was very pleased with the day and her expectations were exceeded.
''All in all, it was pretty jolly perfect,'' she said.
The celebrations started at 10am and finished at 2pm.
She said everyone enjoyed the day and interest in some of the sporting activities the centre offered increased.
