A vehicle failed to take a corner in Halfway Bush yesterday afternoon, smashing into a power pole and damaging a fence at the suburb’s primary school.

The crash left the power pole in Ashmore St at an almost 45deg angle, partly  held up by stretched electricity lines.

A police officer at the scene said the driver took the corner too quickly,  overcorrected and the vehicle hit the power pole.

A police communications spokeswoman said last night nobody had been injured in the crash.

The power pole was being repaired by Delta, and the road had been closed while that happened.

No further details were available.
