About 300 cleaners and orderlies at hospitals in five centres nationwide will strike tomorrow.
Service and Food Workers Union northern regional secretary Jill Ovens said the workers were employed by OCS, which was contracted to district health boards in Auckland, Rotorua, Hawke's Bay, Wairarapa and Christchurch.
They wanted a 2 percent increase, backdated to April 1, in line with what other hospital workers employed directly by the DHBs or other contractors have already been offered, Ms Ovens said.
The workers would strike from 7am-9am, 11am-1pm and 4.30pm-6.30pm.
