Between 180 and 190 people are expected in Oamaru this weekend for the National Party's Mainland (South Island) regional annual conference.
They include Prime Minister John Key, who will host a cocktail party and fundraiser for the Waitaki electorate and speak on Sunday morning, and party president Peter Goodfellow, who will also address the conference.
Other Cabinet ministers will also make addresses or take part in forums during the conference, which opens at 10am on Saturday.
Water, a topical issue in North Otago, will be the subject of an address on Saturday morning by Minister for the Environment Nick Smith, while Social Development and Employment Minister Paula Bennett will also address the conference then take part in a social policy forum with MPs Katrina Shanks (list), Michael Woodhouse (list) and Jo Goodhew (Rangitata).
Conference business will be conducted on Saturday afternoon, along with an address by deputy Prime Minister Bill English.
Sunday's programme includes a "Victory 2011" forum and other conference business, including Mr Key's address.
