Arrowtown will host a "colourful, cultural extravaganza" next week when Mantra Indian Restaurant hosts its third Bhangra night.
Mantra owner Shammi Sandhu said the evening would be "something very special in terms of a cultural extravaganza".
Bhangra is a joyous folk dance which marks the harvest season and is celebrated by the men of Punjab.
"Tickets are flying out the door."
Mrs Sandhu said the music would be eclectic but modern, with a fusion of European style featuring drum beats and the traditional Punjab rhythm.
A DJ and a singer would combine with Auckland dance group the Bhangra Boys.
The theme for the evening will be "Bollywood Dancers".
"Bollywood has just become such an iconic thing in Queenstown with all the movies being shot [here] and films coming out of India."
Mrs Sandhu said the Bhangra Boys would hold a workshop at Mantra on Friday night for anyone who wanted to learn the traditional dance.
"Everyone can get into the rhythm of it all and really get into the Bhangra for Saturday."
