Having all the fun of the circus was easy at Alexandra District Parents Centre last week.

Dressing up as their favourite circus characters was one of the activities children enjoyed at St Aidan's Church hall as part of the national Parents Centre Week.

Vice-president Tara Druce said membership at the centre was thriving with 65 families enrolled.
‘‘Every Parents Centre decides how they are going to celebrate the week,'' Mrs Druce said.

Music and movement teacher Carmen Monaghan led the children in song and dance activities for the dress-up day on Friday.

During the week the children visited Alexandra's St John Ambulance service, had a jumping beans junior gym, took part in mini muscles and watched the movie Ratatouille while they had a fish and chip night.

In a regular week, the group, which meets at St Aidan's Church hall, has a coffee morning for parents and their children on Monday and music and movement on Friday which includes morning tea once a month.
