A vehicle crashed into a fence and then caught fire on a road in the Port Hills last night.

Police were called to the one-vehicle crash on Dyers Pass Rd, Cashmere, about 10.30pm on Sunday, a police spokeswoman said.

A fire crew from the Spreydon station was also at the scene.

No one was injured in the crash.

The blaze took firefighters 30min to put out but did not spread.

A Fire and Emergency NZ spokesperson said the blaze was caused by the crash.
