A person has died in hospital after a car collided with a tree in a coastal Canterbury township last week.
Emergency services responded to the single-vehicle crash on Pegasus Blvd in Pegasus, north of Christchurch, about 2.30pm on Tuesday, November 19.
"A car had left the road and collided with a tree," a police spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said the person died in hospital on Friday.
The police investigation into the circumstances of the crash is continuing.
