The Waitaki Dog Trial Club held its trials at Hakataramea on February 28 and 29, straddling  Collie Hills’ flat land and  Glen Cary’s hills. The merino sheep proved somewhat stubborn, especially as the heat built up. Central Rural Life reporter Sally Brooker went along on the first day.
