Beefy bids

Livestock agents spot bids at the second day of the Southern Man Cattle Sale at Lorneville Saleyard, near Invercargill, on Friday last week.

Auction results from online auction platform Bidr showed seven Charolais cross steers, weighing an average 282kg, sold for $1220 each, or $4.33 per kg.

The first lot of the day, nine Hereford Angus cross steers, weighing 530kg on average, sold for $2000 each, or $3.77 per kg.
