A serious two-vehicle crash near Loburn in North Canterbury has left one person injured.
A police spokeswoman said the crash happened at the intersection of Birch Hill Rd and Yaxleys Rd at about 1pm.
"Initial reports suggest one person is injured," the spokeswoman said.
The road is closed and diversions are in place.
Police asked motorists to avoid the area if possible.
