Severe thunderstorm warning lifted for Canterbury

The thunderstorm moving over Christchurch has now weakened and is no longer considered severe.

Further thunderstorms are expected to continue affecting Christchurch and North Canterbury until about 9pm this evening.

MetService forecasters will continue to monitor the situation.
