Police make arrests after stolen vehicle chase

Two youths have been arrested after allegedly fleeing police in a stolen vehicle through Christchurch on Wednesday morning.

A police spokeswoman said the pursuit began on Springs Rd, Hornby, about 2.30am.

The pair were arrested on Foremans Rd about 15 minutes later.

They were due to appear in the Christchurch Youth Court on Thursday on charges including unlawfully taking a motor vehicle.

It comes after three separate police chases took place in the city on Tuesday morning.

Police are still appealing for information about one of the pursuits. The vehicle was seen speeding through the intersection of Halswell Junction and Springs Rds about at 9.20am, a police spokesperson said.

The pursuit was called off but the vehicle was found to be stolen a short time later.
