With Covid-19 restrictions eased, hundreds of Canterbury primary school pupils were finally able to test their sporting prowess in their annual winter sports tournament on Thursday.
After two postponements, about 1200 students were involved in the event, which featured rugby, football, netball and hockey.
"After three attempts to actually have this large tournament, we finally managed to be able to have it in Covid level 1 as it was too large to run under alert level 2," a spokesperson said.
"Congratulations to the teams that participated in this tournament in Christchurch in excellent sunny and warm conditions. Your attitude was amazing.
