An elderly woman critically injured in a crash in Prebbleton on Tuesday has died.
Two others were seriously injured in the three-car crash at the intersection of Birchs and Robinsons Rds about 3.30pm.
"Police can confirm one person has died following a three-vehicle collision near Prebbleton yesterday," a spokesperson said.
Police confirmed on Wednesday that a woman in her 90s had died.
A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said three fire crews attended.
One person was trapped in each vehicle and were freed by firefighters, he said
All three people were taken to Christchurch Hospital, a St John spokesman said.
