Pre-Christmas bad weather delayed concreting work, but the skatepark bowl is starting to show and work will ramp up soon.
The skate park project is being driven by Kidz Methven and is located on council land on the corner of Bank and McMillan streets.
A recent donation of $15,000 from the New Zealand Community Trust has taken the fundraising effort over $100,000.
A target goal of at least $150,000 has been set by Kidz Methven and an official opening date will be announced in the near future.
