A video has emerged of the moment a car plowed over a kerb and into a Christchurch alcohol shop on Wednesday.
"Some wanted to make sure they were first in line for our [university orientation week] specials," it read.
The footage shows how the motorist accidentally pushed her foot down on the car's accelerator, smashing into the entrance of Super Liquor Ilam on Waimairi Rd.
It then shows two employees, including manager Chris Jamieson, walking out to check the situation.
Super Liquor Ilam posted a tongue in cheek message with the video on Monday.

"If you're heading backing to uni this week, make sure you pop past [Super Liquor] Ilam for in store specials that will make your wheels spin."
Emergency services were called to the incident on Wednesday morning. No one was injured.
Mr Jamieson, a colleague and two sales representatives were in the shop at the time.
He said it was "lucky there were no injuries."
