Third time’s a charm for PRINS at Go Live Festival in Christchurch

A high-energy electro-pop set is on the cards for PRINS fans at the Go Live Festival in the Christchurch Town Hall on Saturday.

Kiwi singer-songwriter Alannah Prins will return to the festival for the third time on August 17, bringing a troupe of dancers, a full backing band, and stage presence honed on the summer festival circuit.

“It’s a show you don’t want to miss," says PRINS.

"The team and I will be bringing a high energy performance playing all your favourite PRINS tunes with the potential of some new unreleased music."

Fresh from SYNTHONY at the Domain in Auckland and a headline show at The James Hay Theatre in March, PRINS’ career continues to build momentum.

She’s booked and busy with performances across the USA and Germany, before returning home for a southern hemisphere tour, with a stop in her former hometown, Christchurch, for Go Live.

“Beyond the stage, I’m currently immersing myself in the LA music scene, dedicating a substantial portion of the year to crafting new music for my next project,” says PRINS.

Produced by Christchurch City Council, Go Live is Ōtautahi Christchurch’s winter music festival.

Final tickets are on sale now for the show on Saturday from 7pm to 11pm.

PRINS first performed in the inaugural Go Live Festival in 2020, returning in 2022, and brings her tunes back to the Go Live stage for the third time in 2024.

The veteran Go Live performer rates the festival as an “invaluable opportunity for local artists”.

“Having this kind of exposure can help artists gain live performance experience, open doors for future collaborations and ultimately grow their fanbase while gaining support in their hometowns. I hope to see this event continue for years to come,” says PRINS.

PRINS will perform alongside a line-up of 14 other acts, including The Bats, Midwave Breaks, and Imperial April.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing 1 Drop Nation. I’ve heard great things,” PRINS says.
