The pursuit - which lasted just a few seconds  - was initiated by police about 11.45pm on Thursday in Sockburn.

It was the second pursuit in less than a week to end with the fleeing driver crashing

A police spokeswoman said the motorist involved in the Sockburn incident was not seriously injured in the crash. The young driver has been referred to Youth Aid.
