The beloved seven-and-a-half-year-old golden retriever has been missing since haring off to chase a rabbit in Redcliffs’ Barnett Park on June 24.
Her owner Mary McNulty fears the oldest of her three retrievers has been stolen, a reward has been offered to secure Bertie’s return to her Moncks Bay home.
“If we can get her back we’ll pay,” she said.
New ‘missing’ signs have been posted at Barnett Park and also at dog parks throughout the city.
“We’ve had a couple of people say: ‘We’ve seen a golden retriever'. But it’s not been the right dog, obviously. It’s just gut-wrenching,” McNulty said.
“People pass on anything they see but at this stage nothing’s happened.”
“Clifford and Reg are still looking, we go there every day, just in case,” she said.
Earlier in the search, trained tracking dogs and a drone operator were used in a forlorn attempt to trace Bertie at Barnett Park and the surrounding area.
