Neighbours reported the fire on Curtletts Rd and two crews were at the scene about 3.15am.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman Andrew Norris said no one was injured in the blaze, which caused "extensive damage" to the home.
He said it was unclear whether anyone was at the property at the time of the fire.
Police and fire investigators visited the property on Friday morning and a police scene guard will remain in place.
