Police search for vehicle involved in pursuit

Police are searching for a vehicle involved in a pursuit that was abandoned north of Christchurch yesterday.

A police spokesman said the vehicle failed to stop for officers on Cones Rd, Rangiora, about 10.30am on Thursday.

No public appeal for information has been made at this stage while they search for it.

The pursuit comes a day after three young people were arrested following a similar incident in Christchurch. Police spotted a stolen vehicle at the Avondale intersection of Wainoni and Breezes Rds about 2.20am and initiated a pursuit. The driver crashed and the occupants fled the scene.
