Police investigate how car crashed into house

Police are investigating how a car crashed into a property in Christchurch in the early hours of Friday morning.

The crash, which happened at 12.10am at a property on Philpotts Rd, Mariehau, was attended by police, St John and Fire and Emergency NZ.

The car appears to have taken out two fences and another vehicle in a driveway, while narrowly missing a power pole.

The vehicle has since been removed from the crash site.

A police spokeswoman said no charges have been laid at this stage.

A St John spokesman said one patient was taken to Christchurch Hospital with moderate injuries following the crash.
