Person critically hurt at Christchurch beach

A person has been taken to hospital in a critical condition after an incident at a Christchurch beach this morning.

Police were called to Scarborough Beach about 9am on Friday.

A police spokesperson said a person in critical condition was transported to Christchurch Hospital.

A St John spokesperson confirmed a person was taken to hospital by ambulance.
