MP’s plan to bring businesses together in New Brighton

Christchurch East MP Reuben Davidson is behind a bid to re-establish a business association in New Brighton.

It comes after catch-ups with business owners in the eastern suburbs and a survey of their needs.

“By far the largest thing in New Brighton was the need for a re-launch of the business association," Davidson said.

"With new developments and businesses coming into the area, the need has never been greater."

He has facilitated the first conversation around what that might look like at a meeting of local business owners and managers, Coastal Ward city councillor Celeste Donovan and community board members.

A follow-up meeting will be held within the next month.

"I believe as the local MP, I can assist and be there when needed.

"We have a great team of energetic business owners, and we are looking for more to join to ensure we have a vibrant, strong, unified voice representing local businesses.”
