Between November and April, 161 infringement notices were issued across Christchurch and Banks Peninsula, compared to 95 during the same period last year.
Naval Point, which is 2km outside the centre of Lyttelton, attracted the most infringement notices with 66 fines issued.
Marine Pde in New Brighton also featured in the top five sites to attract freedom camping fines with 21 fines.
Fifteen fines were handed out at the Akaroa Lighthouse and the rest of Akaroa accumulated eight.
Campervans certified as self-contained, with a toilet, wastewater and rubbish facilities, are permitted to freedom camp in some areas of Christchurch and across Banks Peninsula.
The Freedom Camping Act allows the Christchurch City Council to issue a $200 fine if someone is found to be freedom camping in a public place in breach of the bylaw.
