A Christchurch boy who was reported missing on Sunday has been found safe and well, police say.

Darcy was originally reported missing from St Albans after being last seen near the Washington Way skate park in Sydenham on Sunday afternoon.

Police made a public appeal for help locating Darcy.

"The young person previously reported missing from St Albans has now been located safe and well," a police spokesperson said.

"Thanks to everyone who shared our post or helped by calling in with information."
