Four people have been arrested after police raided two properties on Wednesday linked to the Head Hunters gang in Christchurch.
Police executed search warrants on Wednesday morning at a Vickerys Rd property in Wigram and a Cashmere house, a police spokeswoman said.
A police spokeswoman said the armed offenders squad took part in the raids "as a precaution".
All four appeared in the Christchurch District Court on Wednesday on a variety of charges, including possession of explosives, ammunition and class A drugs.
"AOS staff were in attendance as a precaution," the spokeswoman said.
Detective Senior Sergeant Craig Farrant said police arrested two men in their 30s, another in his 50s and a woman in relation to the search warrants.
An armed officer was guarding the gate of the Vickerys Rd property yesterday, while a scene photographer and officers searched the property.
