E-scooter rider seriously injured in crash

A crash between a car and an e-scooter in central Christchurch on Wednesday has left one person with serious injuries.

The incident happened on Riccarton Ave near Hagley Oval at 11.20am. 

A St John spokesman said one person was taken to Christchurch Hospital with serious injuries.

Police confirmed the injured person was the rider of the e-scooter.

Police are making enquiries into the incident, a spokeswoman said.
