The crash near the Aidanfield Drive overbridge on State Highway 76 occurred about 8am on Wednesday.
It caused a queue of traffic back to Halswell Junction Rd during the morning rush hour.
The scene was cleared and traffic flows returned to normal by about 9.45am, a Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency spokesperson said.
