Christchurch dairy robbed for 12th time

A group of five people armed with a hammer robbed a Christchurch dairy that has been targeted at least 12 times since 2016.

Two male teenagers were arrested and charged with aggravated robbery following the incident at Night 'n' Day on Ferry Rd about 1am on Tuesday morning.

Detective Sergeant Craig Johnston said one other person, also a youth, has been spoken to by police and two others are still on the run.

The group of all males stole cigarettes and cash. No one was injured in the incident.

Police attended and located some members of the group nearby.

It is at least the 12th time the store has been robbed since 2016.

From August 2016 to March 2017, it was robbed nine times.

In August this year, it was robbed again by three men, armed with hammers, who stole cigarettes.
