Police are investigating another suspicious fire in Burwood on Monday night.
A fire crew from the Anzac station was called to the incident near the red zone on Kingsford St about 5.15am.
However, police say the blaze was not related to the spate of alleged arsons in the area early on Monday morning. A 21-year-old man was arrested today in relation to the blazes at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Parklands, Christchurch Transitional Cathedral on Hereford St and the Beach Cafe and Wine Bar in New Brighton. The man was also charged with the attempted arson of a church in Kaiapoi, burglary and wilful damage. He was due in court today.
A Fire and Emergency NZ spokeswoman said the car on Kingsford St was parked up and already well ablaze by the time firefighters arrived.
"We did think it was suspicious - there was nobody with the vehicle, so police have been notified."
A police spokeswoman said they will contact the registered owner of the car in relation to the fire.
