A 42-year-old man appeared in court today after allegedly presenting a gun during an early morning incident in Christchurch.
Police were called to the incident on Hayes Rd, south of Christchurch, about 5am on Wednesday.
They found two people believed to be known to each other in an altercation involving a gun.
The 42-year-old man was arrested and charged with possession of firearms and drug utensils.
No injuries were reported following the incident.
The man appeared this morning in the Christchurch District Court facing a raft of charges, including unlawful possession of a pistol and firearm, as well as possession of cannabis and methamphetamine utensils.
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in court again on February 18.
