Kaikorai defended tenaciously and handled the conditions better to beat Dunedin 23-15 at Kettle Park.

Paul Grant's second half try proved the turning point in the game. With about 10 minutes remaining, and Kaikorai's scrum finding a second reverse gear, he picked the ball up and charged over line leaving several defenders in his wake.

Dunedin scored a late try through Sam Anderson-Heather but Josh Simpkins missed the sideline conversion which would have secured a bonus point.

University A dispatched Taieri 28-3 at Peter Johnstone Park to remain at the top of the standings with nine wins from 10 games. Harbour brushed aside Pirates 52-10 at Hancock Park.

Green Island scored in the dying moments to beat Alhambra-Union 31-24 at the North Ground and Southern beat Zingari-Richmond 38-5 at the University Oval.
