New Zealand's Lydia Ko has claimed another top five finish on the LPGA Tour despite an up-and-down final round at the Kingsmill Championship in Virginia.

Ko fired a final round even-par 71, her worst score of the tournament, on a day that included three birdies, a double bogey and a bogey to finish fifth at eight-under.

It is Ko's third top-five finish of the LPGA season.

At one point Ko held outright second before falling back in the field after dropping two shots on the par four 12th.

American overnight leader Lizette Salas carded a final round 71 to win her first LPGA title by four shots ahead of Australian Sarah Jane Smith, Yani Tseng of Chinese Taipei and American Lexi Thompson.
