Car buffs get their show on the road

It was man and machine at the Kaitangata Rugby Club grounds on Saturday.

The second Kaitangata Car Show and Run attracted 160 entries from vintage and classic cars to the latest models.

Balclutha man Regan Dowling (21) entered the show for the first time, with his father Kevin's 1923 Ford T.

His dad built the hot rod himself, registering it in 1983, joining a large collection of hot rods and classic cars.

Most vehicles joined the run from Kaitangata to Lawrence and back through Clutha Valley before returning to the prizegiving in Kaitangata.

The people's choice award went to Roger and Tania Binnema with their 2009 Chevrolet Camaro, and the entrants' choice award to Jason Bouzard with his AP5.

All money raised from the event goes to St John Youth Balclutha division, the Kaitangata Junior Netball Club and Kaitangata Skate Park.
