Bygone big birds occupy littlies

Lower Waitaki Playgroup's Evie Birchfield (13 months), of Oamaru, is dwarfed by a moa's tibiotarsus at the Forrester Gallery yesterday.

She was there to participate in a ''wonderlab'' as part of the gallery's ''Te Moa'' exhibition.

North Otago Museum curator Chloe Searle said the ''wonderlab'' was about sharing information about moa in a child-friendly way.
