A unimog truck went on fire this morning near Ranfurly, nearly causing a paddock fire.
Fire and Emergency New Zealand southern communications shift manager John Ditmer said the privately owned truck was travelling on Ida Valley-Omakau Rd near SH85.
One engine and one tanker from Ranfurly attended the scene.
There were reports that the truck fire had spread to a grass paddock, but when the fire service arrived the fire was contained in the vehicle.
The cause of the fire or if anyone was injured was unknown.
