Police are continuing to investigate the death of a young mother of five at a property in Methven.
A post mortem has been carried out on the woman, who is in her 30s today though police are not releasing the cause the death.
Investigators and forensic staff are examining the property, with operations expected to last through until tomorrow.
Emergency services were first called to a house on Main St about 9.30am yesterday.
The property borders the Our Lady of the Snows School.
Inspector Dave Gaskin of Mid-South Canterbury police said he "wants to reassure the community that there is no danger to the public".
