Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand reported 7019 new cases of Covid-19 last week and 343 people in hospital with the virus.
Of the cases reported, 4361 were reinfections.
Twenty-six new deaths attributable to Covid-19 were reported this week.
There were 8040 new cases reported in the week leading up to January 14, of which 4992 were reinfections.
