One person was in a serious condition following a crash in Southland yesterday.
Police attended the scene of a serious crash on State Highway 97 near Mossburn, between Hillas and Ellis Rds that was reported at 6.15pm.
One person who was seriously injured was flown to Dunedin Hospital and another person who was moderately hurt was taken by ambulance to Southland Hospital in Invercargill, a Hato Hone St John spokeswoman said.
Another patient considered to be in a moderate condition was assessed and treated at the scene.
The serious crash unit was also present at the scene but was later stood down, a police spokesman said.
