Taking part in rainbow-themed activities for the Dunedin Fringe Festival, Otago Arts Society Committee volunteer Sarah Ellis, of Dunedin, and her daughters, Riley (9, left) and Neva (7) McPherson, get creative in a colourful way.

More than 100 children descended on the Otago Art Society "Rainbow Connection" exhibit at the Dunedin Railway Station on Saturday morning, sharing in the joy and creative children’s art activities provided.

Otago Arts Society member Jenny Longstaff said "the room was absolutely humming" as the children took part in the activities such as arts and crafts, rock painting and ping pong ball toss.

"It’s incredible. There’s so much positivity, friendship and love, imagine the colour and expression," Ms Longstaff said.

Brightly dressed children were awarded prizes for their creativity, and Ms Longstaff said the morning had been a fantastic success.
