As part of Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori - Maori Language Week - Queenstown Primary School's Tahuna te Ahi Kapa Haka group was welcomed to St Joseph's School for a powhiri on Wednesday.

St Joseph's School, as the tangata whenua (hosts), welcomed the group on to school grounds, with the pupils exchanging whaikorero (speeches), and waiata (songs) to celebrate the week's theme of Manaakitanga - hospitality, respect and welcome for visitors. Queenstown Times reporter Joe Dodgshun took his camera along for the occasion.
