One of the photos on show at Chris McLennan's exhibition at Jacks Point is Newton Marshall - Jamaican Dog Sledder at the Alaskan Iditarod, which won him the 2010 People's Choice award in the National Geographic Traveller PDN Great Outdoors Photo Competition. Photo supplied.
World-class photography will be exhibited at the Jack's Point Golf clubhouse until October, as Chris McLennan presents a selection of his work.

Southland-born McLennan spent the first decade of his professional photography career working from Queenstown.

The international travel photographer is based in Auckland when he is not shooting on location around the world.

His credits include an honours award in the International Black and White Spider awards in London this year, and numerous wins in the National Geographic Traveller PDN Great Outdoors Photo Competition.

"It is great to be able to show my work in Queenstown, and Jack's Point is a wonderfully scenic place for my photos," he said.

The collection of images from around the world are limited-edition prints, infused into high-gloss aluminium and float-mounted on a second sheet of "sheer" aluminium.

The finish is a scratch- and water-resistant surface which is easily cleaned.

The result does justice to the saturated colours and intensity of the motifs.

Mr McLennan told the Queenstown Times he intends to give a talk about his work, while it is exhibited at Jack's Point, but the date has yet to be confirmed.
