Top New Zealand squash player Joelle King is through to the second round of the Australian Squash Open in Canberra, and will meet Malaysia's Delia Arnold in the second round tomorrow.
King, seeded eighth, downed Australian Maggie Marsh 11-6 11-3 11-2 in her first round match.
Fellow New Zealander Kylie Lyndsay was beaten 11-9 7-11 11-4 11-3 Emily Whitelock (England) in her first round match.
Of the other New Zealanders through to the main draw, Amanda Cranston lost to Australian Kasey Brown 11-2 11-7 11-3 and Amanda Landers-Murphy was beaten 11-4 11-8 11-2 by Dipika Pallikal (India).
