Cricket: White Ferns go down in Rose Bowl series

The Australia women's team have crushed New Zealand by nine wickets to retain the Rose Bowl Series Trophy in Sydney today.

Australia won the best of three series 1-0 after the two earlier matches were washed out.

The White Ferns elected to bat after winning the toss at the Blacktown International Sports Park, with only Katie Perkins (33), Elizabeth Perry (27) and Amy Satterthwaite with 19 contributing in the 125 total all out off 39.1 overs.

The Australians were untroubled in their reply, needing only 16.4 overs to reach 126 with the loss of only one wicket.

Leah Poulton (61 off 53) and Alex Blackwell (50 off 40) posted half centuries for Australia.
